How are the difficulty levels chosen?
Easy problems never need carrying in any column. Medium worksheets are half problems with carrying and half without. Hard worksheets only use problems with carrying, with sums of at least half the maximum (and two two-digit numbers once the maximum is 40 or more). If a setting cannot supply enough different problems, the page tells you and repeats some.
When are pictures available?
Counting pictures draw each number as stars, which only works for small numbers. They are available with the horizontal layout when the maximum sum is 10 or less.
Will the problems change when I switch paper size or layout?
No. Paper size, layout, answer key and the other display options keep the same problems. Use “New problems” for a fresh set. The code in the footer identifies each problem set, and the answer key carries the same code.
What is a worksheet pack?
A pack puts 3, 5 or 10 worksheets with the same settings but different problems into one PDF. Each sheet is numbered, and its answer key follows all the worksheets with the same sheet number.
